HAYS Architecture & Design NI are proud to be working on behalf of a home-grown, multi-national organisation in their search for an experienced AutoCAD Technician to join their internal design team. From a design perspective, this is an intriguing opportunity to work within their relatively small internal design team, on compelling and progressive projects across their facilities both in Northern Ireland but also wider UK. This should appeal to Design Technicians who feel they've reached a natural ceiling in their current organisation, or are looking for a fulfilling pivot utilising the skillset they've developed thus far, and to bring it to the next level.

Your new role

As a specialist CAD Technician, you'll have a varied and changeable list of roles & responsibilities. These will include (but are not limited to):

Performing building / site surveys and assisting with contract administration
Using specialist computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software and other resources to assist with the creation of drawings for construction and planning
Overseeing and supervising various projects out in the field
Facilitating internal meetings and liaising closely with Facilities staff, in-house project teams and outside Contractors performing works.
To review issues and in return provide solutions and advice to ensure successful project completion.
The ability to comfortably multitask and work on a variety of projects within a short period of time
To assist with other functions within the Facilities administration team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you will come from an Architectural Technologist (or equivalent) degree background, with a depth of understanding and ability around using AutoCAD software to provide construction design support for the internal design team, on a broad range of projects from refurbishments to new developments for the company. You'll ideally have site supervision experience, and know-how around planning and building control. You'll be a team player with a hands on attitude, displaying computer literacy and strong negotiation, communication and time management skills.
