Audit senior semi senior ACA ACCA AAT independent accountancy firm in Fareham

You will be working for a highly reputable and professional independent accountancy practice based in Fareham as they are looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join their Audit & Accounts team. The firm is a well-established accountancy firm, offering a variety of accountancy, audit and taxation services to its clients. Its offices are conveniently located in Fareham town centre, with the main shopping area a 5 minute walk away.

The purpose of this role is to play a key part of the audit team ensuring that audit planning, fieldwork and completion is performed to a sufficient standard, ultimately resulting in the ability for the company to sign audit reports. Key responsibilities will include planning, execution and completion of audits reporting to managers and partners; preparation of accounts, reports and other assignments as required; co-ordinate planning with clients, including liaising with relevant departments within the firm; communicating and building relationships with clients and related third parties and accounts preparation for non-audit clients and drafting of company tax computations.

You will also be involved in leading on-site audit teams and completing jobs with minimal supervision, to deadlines and within budget; business development including promoting the firm and its services to the existing client base and prospects and development and supervision of trainees.

The firm will consider an ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant with recent experience in Audit and Assurance within an accountancy practice (minimum 2 years). Experience of auditing construction, marine and property firms would be ideal but is not essential. If you have experience of leading external audit assignments from planning to completion stages under International Standards on Auditing, both in office and on-site that would be ideal, along with experience of preparing accounts in accordance with FRS 102. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and have strong communication skills able to liaise with senior staff and clients. You will have string computer skills and be a confident user of Microsoft Office suite, and prior knowledge of CCH would be an advantage. In addition you must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have own vehicle.
