Assets Manager (Response Maintenance) required by a large Housing Association on a permanent basis

Your new company

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit an Assets Manager (Response Maintenance) on a permanent basis.

Our client provides quality and affordable social housing in over 80 towns and cities throughout Northern Ireland. They provide a range of services from sheltered housing for over 55s and general needs housing for families and single people, as well as specialist care and support facilities for the frail, elderly, people with dementia and learning disabilities and other complex needs.

Your new role

You will manage performance and customer relations for the Association’s responsive maintenance service and assist the Director of Assets in the strategic delivery of a quality asset management service to the tenants.

You will provide leadership and line management to the relevant Assets team to ensure a high-quality service is delivered in accordance with the Association’s policies and procedures.

You will assist in the establishment of budgets and be responsible for designated budgets and providing forecasts of expenditure.

You will manage and monitor the performance of suppliers, contractors, consultants, and other delivery partners on a regular basis to ensure regulatory targets are met, quality of workmanship and service is maintained and a “value for money” service is provided.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

A third level qualification (HNC, HND or Bachelor’s Degree) in a construction related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in reactive/response maintenance at a supervisory or management level, to include at least 2 years’ experience in minor works: value for money/bench marking of costs, mobilisation of works and programme management.

Relevant experience must include:

  • MTC Contract management – mechanical, electrical & building fabric services.
  • Performance monitoring in a client-facing role (SLA’s & KPI adherence)
  • Responsibility for customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Constructing business cases, board reports and presentations
  • Supervising staff, which should include directing/delegating work and dealing with problems including identification and resolution.
You should be IT literate with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, working with databases, spreadsheets, setting budgets.
