This is the opportunity to join an excellent accountancy firm who offer a full range of services including audit, accounting, tax, payroll and advisory solutions. The firm have multiple offices across Scotland and are currently looking to recruit within their Glasgow branch, based on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre. The firm is easily accessible via public transport or can offer on-site parking nearby. The firm adopts an exciting, tech-driven approach to working and has enjoyed substantial growth over recent years.


Your new role

The key duties of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Full ownership of the monthly management accounting cycle for your clients
  • Review the work of junior staff, and be willing to devote time to coach and develop them
  • Work with the Technology Systems team to help design and implement innovative reports and dashboards for clients to access in real-time via smartphones and tablet
  • Work closely with the Finance Operations team to ensure efficiency of the Purchase to Pay cycle and accurate recording of accruals and prepayments
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and audit requirements by maintaining robust controls
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, initiating ideas to develop processes and controls.
  • Liaise with auditors during clients’ external audits.
  • Analysis of KPI's & metrics as required by clients and company management
  • Dealing with ad hoc queries from hotel clients on top of BAU work

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have experience within a similar position within a practice accountancy firm or a large finance function. You will be a proactive problem solver with strong written and verbal communication skills and possess a strong attention to detail. You will have a strong level of competency on Microsoft Excel and be comfortable working under pressure with strict deadlines and understand the ability to prioritise tasks when necessary.
