Hays are working with a local school, who are looking to appoint a passionate and engaging Head of Food and Design Technology. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle leader who is looking for a new challenge. They are seeking a Food specialist who can engage their students through their passion for the subject and can confidently lead the Technology Department.Your new role
As a leader, the school wants someone who will engage their students through their enthusiasm and passion for their subject; someone who will inspire them beyond the curriculum and expand their cultural knowledge so that they can stand ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with any other young person, from any other background. What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will need demonstrable experience in the following areas:- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Degree in relevant subject area.
- A good/outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge and an ability to use a range of teaching learning strategies effectively.
- A good understanding of curriculum developments in the specific subject area.
- A confident & competent user of ICT.
- Able to use student-level data to raise standards.
- Able to communicate both orally and in writing to students, their parents and the wider community.
- Ability to teach KS5 desirable
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- A willingness to take on or try new approaches & ideas.
- A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
