Your new company
A Special Needs School which specialises in behavioural issues is looking for a School Office manager for a scheme that is currently funded until March 2026. The role is term time only, 8.00 am - 4.00 pm to start in September 2025.
Your new role
In a stand alone role to ensure the effective administration of Centres providing secretarial, administrative and financial support to the Head of Centre and other senior staff whilst being responsible for the centre office on a day-to-day basis. The role will entail managing absence/attendance records for both pupils and staff, to include updating and maintaining accurate records in accordance with Local Authority procedures on the appropriate weekly returns form. Making arrangements for pupil transport (e.g. taxi/bus) within the context of School needs, the keeping of accurate records on standard forms and weekly/monthly returns to Travel Assist. Administration related to safeguarding e.g. visitors, DBS processes, shielding of information ensuring relevant and required information is sent to the School Management Office (SMO). As well as placing orders, and keeping appropriate financial records using spreadsheets.

Please note that you will have contact with children at the centre who have a number of behavioural issues and at times can be volatile.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a high level of communication skills and be able to work quickly under your initiative and experienced at office manager level.. You will also have recent satisfactory references for carrying out a similar placement within the last 2 years. You will also need to have an up to date DBS check, the school can't accept any applicants without this
