Your New Company
Hays Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester to recruit a dedicated and adaptable Humanities Teacher for a September 2025 start. This PRU supports students aged 11–16 who are not currently in mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where students can re-engage with learning and make positive progress.

Your New Job
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering subjects such as History, Geography, and RE. The role requires a creative and flexible approach to teaching, with a strong emphasis on building relationships and promoting positive behaviour. You will work closely with a skilled team of support staff and SEN professionals to ensure each student receives a tailored learning experience. This is a full-time temporary role for the Autumn term, with the potential to become permanent.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and engage reluctant learners
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
