1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Supporting a Pupil with ASD – Make a Meaningful Impact

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for special educational needs (SEN)? Hays Education is seeking a Specialist 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in mainstream one form entry Preston primary school.

Your new role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and supportive learning experience for a child with ASD. You’ll provide individualised assistance, helping the pupil engage with the curriculum, develop communication and social skills, and feel comfortable in a classroom environment.

What you'll need to succeed

✔ Experience supporting children with ASD or other SEN needs ✔ Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach ✔ Strong communication and behaviour management skills ✔ Ability to implement personalised strategies to support learning and social development ✔ Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Autism training) are
