Your new role
As Finance Manager (Management Accounting), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial performance, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will lead a team responsible for management accounts, bank reconciliations, and service charge reporting, while also contributing to long-term financial planning and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead monthly variance analysis and management reporting
- Oversee fixed asset and capital grant reconciliations for a £600m+ property portfolio
- Manage service charge budgeting and quarterly reporting
- Support long-term financial planning and investment appraisal for a £50m annual development programme
- Drive improvements in financial procedures, systems, and controls
- Represent finance in system upgrades and cross-functional projects
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic planning and organisational development
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 3–5 years PQE
- Proven experience in financial management and team leadership
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (SORP/IFRS)
- Experience with financial systems and process improvement
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive change
- Experience in the housing or not-for-profit sector is desirable
