Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is located in Chorlton, South Manchester. This specialist setting supports students aged 11–16 who are not currently in mainstream education due to a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your New Job
We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join this dynamic and supportive team from September 2025. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. In this role, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Differentiate content to meet the diverse needs of learners, many of whom have SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
- Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and progress.
- Work closely with pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to support students’ academic and emotional development.
- Contribute to the wider school ethos and behaviour management strategies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an alternative provision, PRU, or SEN setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
- A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners.
- Resilience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting young people who face barriers to learning.
