Your new role
As a Technical Officer, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering property adaptations for residents across North West Leicestershire. From houseboats to mobile homes, you’ll assess needs, develop technical solutions, and manage projects from survey to completion. You’ll liaise with a wide range of professionals, including Occupational Therapists, contractors, and planning officers, ensuring that all work meets statutory and policy standards.
This is a temporary position for 3 months, full-time. It offers a varied and rewarding workload with the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.

What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Technical knowledge of building construction and housing adaptations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work sensitively with vulnerable clients.
- Project management experience, including contractor oversight and property inspections.
- Computer literacy, including the ability to produce technical drawings and manage case records.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Desirable qualifications include an HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Building Studies or Construction, and experience with CAD software or similar tools.
