SEN Teacher (PMLD) - Stockport

SEN Teacher – PMLD Specialist (Full-Time, September Start)
Location: Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential to Become Permanent)
Start Date: September 2025

Your New Company
Hays Education is recruiting on behalf of a leading special educational needs (SEN) school in Greater Manchester that provides outstanding support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This specialist school is known for its inclusive approach, expert staff, and commitment to delivering high-quality education for students with complex needs. The school offers a safe, nurturing environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential.

Your New Job
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join this PMLD school on a full-time basis from September 2025. This is a temporary teaching role with the strong potential to become permanent, depending on performance and fit within the team. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a highly personalised and sensory-based curriculum to students with complex learning and physical needs. You will work closely with a team of teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure each pupil receives a holistic and engaging education tailored to their individual needs.

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this SEN teaching role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. You should have proven experience working with children or young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), complex medical needs, or severe learning difficulties (SLD). A strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, including sensory integration, communication aids such as Makaton or PECS, and a compassionate, flexible approach are essential. You must be committed to inclusive education and confident in managing a classroom with high levels of support needs.

What You'll Get in Return
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-resourced and supportive SEN school with a strong leadership team and a clear vision for inclusive education. You will benefit from ongoing professional development, a collaborative working environment, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with complex needs. A competitive daily rate is offered, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
