Hays Senior Finance are recruiting for a Qualified Management Accountant with our client in the Engineering Sector. Joining our client at an exciting time of expansion, this role will join a team of experienced Accountants and Business Partners involving significant engagement with the business and high-profile projects. Initially, this role is a 6-month contract position with the opportunity to move to a permanent appointment after the initial term. Based in the city centre, you will enjoy a hybrid working environment with a competitive salary of £60,000 plus benefits including generous holiday entitlement and first-class pension scheme.

Your new role

The Senior Management Accountant will join a high-profile, fast-paced team where their role will encompass management accounting and business partnering activities. You will be responsible for end-end management accounting and performance analysis, presenting results and driving business decisions. You will prepare and develop the annual budget, business plan and other statistical / statutory information, in conjunction with the relevant Directors, senior management teams and the Senior Finance Business Partner. You will closely liaise with the business to ensure any future changes are incorporated within the quarterly forecast and annual budget and business plan submissions.

You will be responsible for forecasting and variance analysis at a high level and partner with non-financial stakeholders to help them understand numbers, costs and delivering projects at agreed timescales.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified Accountant with experience of working in complex business areas at pace. You will enjoy understanding the details behind business processes with operations, building relationships and challenging assumptions. Experience with ERP systems and Advanced Excel is essential.
