An education provider in Southport is looking to strengthen their team by appointing an IT Technician.
Your new company
A renowned education provider in the Southport area has approached Hays seeking an IT Technician to join their established team, who have a passion for providing a high level of IT support to both staff and pupils across the college. The organisation offers a diverse range of courses to students and therefore has a varied technology landscape with state-of-the-art facilities, with the sole purpose of ensuring a high level of education is provided for students. Reporting to the Head of IT, the successful IT Technician will join a supportive team and will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and knowledge.
Your new role
As an IT Technician, you will work closely with the wider IT team to support them in the delivery of IT services across the college, supporting both students and staff to a high level. Responsibilities for this role will include:
- Responding to IT service requests from end users
- Supporting users in the setting up of accounts and completing password changes
- Resolving user errors which may relate to hardware, software or bespoke equipment.
- Providing IT support to students during lessons and exams.
- Ensuring an up-to-date register is kept of all IT equipment and ordering consumables as and when required.
- Unpacking, installing and building IT hardware
- Support the wider IT team in the delivery and completion of IT projects
- General IT support and administration
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this position and joining this supportive team, you will possess a recent IT qualification or will have recent hands-on experience of providing IT support. Strong communication skills and good attention to detail are also required in this role. Should you have recent experience of providing face-to-face IT support to end users, this would also be beneficial. This would be an ideal role for an applicant who has recently completed an apprenticeship in IT, or recently gained an IT qualification where they have had to complete work experience.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a salary of between £23,000 and £24,000 dependent on your experience and qualifications, and you will have the opportunity to further develop your own skills and knowledge, working as part of an experienced IT team.
