Our client is a leading FMCG business with a fantastic success story. They are an award-winning business inspired by innovation and a passion for delivering excellence and world-class products. They are expanding their leadership team and wish to appoint an experienced Head of Finance to help lead a small team through an exciting growth period.

Attractive Salary £60,000 - £70,000

Your new role

This role will report to the CFO and will have responsibility for:

Support the CFO in providing effective management of the finance function by aligning the team to the company’s vision for the future and driving positive change at a pace.
Assist in developing and delivering annual budgets and setting KPIs for the finance function

Manage the finance team to consistently deliver high performance and financial excellence.

Ensure robust internal controls, financial systems, performance analytics, and management practices are in place and upheld, to support a high-performing manufacturing organisation.
Effective Treasury management, based on developed forecasts and projections, ensuring the business has appropriate Working Capital and Investment facilities in place to meet targets and goals.
Identification of external funding opportunities from finance houses and government bodies, development of business cases and management of the subsequent projects and programs.
Successful production and management of all weekly, monthly and annual reporting requirements, including internal and external auditors.
Provide strong support to the CFO on business-wide matters, including all financial matters.
Demonstrate commercial excellence and evaluate, challenge and optimise pricing and margin to help create competitive advantage and drive profitability.
Knowledge and understanding of the business’ processes and an ability to translate this into operational costs and ultimately profitability.
Develop constructive working relationships with the C-Suite Team and Board through inciteful communication and reporting.
Manage a high-performance culture within the Finance Function, focusing on talent identification and development.
Drive an organised and disciplined finance function, with robust internal and external financial reporting standards and control measures.
Deliver Functional KPIs in line with targets.
Deliver Functional Projects on time and on budget.

Help to manage a team culture focussed on driving excellence through inspirational people management.

Develop an understanding of market intelligence and business performance to inform accurate financial forecasts and commercials.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified accountant (preferably ACA).

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience in finance management roles, ideally including experience as a proven Financial Manager, Controller or similar role in a substantial manufacturing business or in a related space.

  • Experience of working closely with C-Suite executives and reporting to Senior Management and Leadership Teams

  • Full finance skill set including experience in financial control, reporting, technical accounting, FP&A, M&A, and tax.

  • Experience in projects and successfully working to deadlines
