I am currently working with an extremely prestigious school in the heart of London who are looking to urgently bring in a Network Server Engineer to help bring the existing Windows 11 workstation and Linux Virtual Machine (VM) infrastructure up to date, ensuring all systems are fully patched.

Your new role

Network Server Engineer

• Type: Contract
• Day Rate: £475 per day inside IR35
• Hybrid: (3 days on-site per week)
• Location: London (Westminster)

What you'll need to succeed

The required skills and experience are as follows:

• Proven experience as a Network and/or Server Specialist.
• Strong experience with Windows 11 administration, including patching and update management.
• Strong experience with Linux administration (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), including package management and patching.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) as they relate to VM patching.
• Familiarity with patch management tools and strategies for both Windows and Linux environments.
• Understanding of networking concepts relevant to patch distribution and system connectivity.
• Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automating patching tasks is highly desirable.
