Your new company
A large public sector organisation based in Derry/Londonderry who provide environmental services to the Derry and Strabane area including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution control, Licence and Permits, Health and Safety and Noise control have an immediate requirement for an Environmental Health Officer.
Your new role
This is a temporary contract position, ideally for someone who is available to commence immediately or at short notice. You will be based in Derry City and report to the Principal EHO. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.
Duties and responsibilities:
Carry out the appropriate inspection; investigation; assessment or activity within defined Environmental Health functions.
The remit of this post may cover one or more of the service areas below in the first instance.
However, the post holder may be required to provide/develop expertise in any area listed as required to meet the needs of the service:

What you'll need to succeed
Applicants must have a relevant third level qualification in Environmental Health e.g. Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) which entitles applicants to graduate or voting membership of the CIEH or equivalent body.
A minimum of one years’ experience (including placement year) working in the field of Environmental Health.
Hold a full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a form of transport that meets the needs of the post.
