St Thomas More is a good school (Ofsted 2022) committed to high standards of growth and professional development. The school is popular – always oversubscribed beyond our admission limit – and well respected in the local community. We are a successful school with a large sixth form located near Willenhall, with easy access to the M6 motorway network.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of English at KS3 and 4 and Media Studies at KS5. This vacancy is a unique opportunity; for a newly qualified teacher this would provide an excellent start to your teaching career, whilst for more experienced colleagues there are varied further development opportunities and rewards available.

As a teacher of English, you’ll be joining an experienced group of qualified practitioners who very much work as a team. Staff are confident in sharing good practice in a collaborative and cohesive way and the department benefits from the expertise of several trained AQA markers. Practitioners utilise facilitative methods of teaching with interactive screens and visualisers in every classroom.

As a teacher of Media Studies, you will work alongside the Head of Creative, Film and Media to deliver a stimulating curriculum to students at KS5.

In return our school can offer you a welcoming and inclusive environment, with a culture of openness and transparency. We value highly the wellbeing of all our staff and offer a number of benefits to support this. You’ll also benefit from support, mentoring and development tailored to you with the potential for training linked to NPQML and NPQSL. Teachers flourish at St Thomas More, and we offer fantastic career advancement for teachers at all levels.

St Thomas More Catholic School is a very special place. Students are friendly, enthusiastic and eager to learn. Staff are caring, supportive and dedicated to finding the true potential in every one of our students. If you have a passion for English and a commitment to ensuring every student achieves their very best, we want to hear from you!
