What you'll need to succeed
- Professional Qualification: A recognised finance qualification (e.g. CCAB, CIMA) with ongoing professional development.
- Strong Business Partnering Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, offering strategic financial insights.
- Management Accounting Expertise: Proven experience in producing accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience leading annual budget processes and managing multi-cost-centre environments.
- Charity Sector Knowledge: Understanding of charity fund accounting, SORP, VAT, Gift Aid, and donor compliance.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in data manipulation using pivot tables, lookups, and other advanced Excel functions.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data and present it in a clear, actionable format.
- Communication Skills: Confident in presenting financial performance to senior management and supporting decision-making.
- System Proficiency: Experience with finance systems like SUN and CRM platforms, ensuring accurate coding and reconciliations.
- Leadership and Training: Capable of line managing staff and delivering training to finance and non-finance colleagues.
What you'll get in return
- Salary up to £47,000
- Hybrid working with at least 2 days working from home
