Your new company
Your new company is a leading family-run food business established over 40 years ago. Supplying to the retail, food service, and food manufacturing sectors, the company offers a range of primal, value-added, and cooked meat items from its production base in Craigavon. The company is dedicated to maintaining high standards and delivering excellent service, making it a trusted name in the food manufacturing industry.
Your new role
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align with customer demand, operational capabilities, and business objectives. This vital role ensures product availability, minimises waste, and optimises resource usage within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include developing, issuing, and managing daily, weekly, and long-term production plans based on forecasts and confirmed orders, liaising with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources, and monitoring and adjusting production schedules as needed to meet KPIs and customer delivery requirements. You will also analyse production data to identify trends, constraints, and areas for improvement, maintain planning information accurately, and communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and efficiency. Additionally, you will support stock management by helping to minimise overproduction and avoid shortages and contribute to continuous improvement projects related to planning and operational efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need previous experience in a production planning role, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities are essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in IT, particularly in Excel, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of food manufacturing processes and food safety standards are highly desirable. A positive, team-focused attitude and a solution-driven approach are also important. A degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Food Production, or a related field is preferred but not essential, along with relevant experience in a similar planning or scheduling position.
What you'll get in return
The company offers a competitive salary, on-site parking, a supportive, team-oriented working environment, direct access to senior management, opportunities for professional development and career progression, and a chance to contribute to a growing and respected family-run business.
