Procurement Manager - Manufacturing - Up to £50,000 - Wiltshire - On-site

Summary:

Hays are exclusively partnered with an SME manufacturing business that's been operating for over 50 years to recruit a motivated Procurement Manager to join their small but mighty team. You can expect to be leading on all procurements of parts and components, ensuring a cost-effective, quality approach is taken to raw material sourcing and be working with international suppliers and stakeholders to navigate the ever-changing supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on negotiating pricing, lead times and payment / contract terms with domestic and international suppliers
  • Manage the end-to-end procurements of raw materials, parts and components.
  • Run weekly MRP reports to determine stock levels and appropriate replenishment
  • Manage supplier relationships across China & Europe to ensure contractual performance via KPIs on quality, cost and delivery.
  • Implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure sourcing practices meet import regulations and ethical sourcing practices
  • Utilise SAP to raise purchase orders
  • Stay close to market trends, material cost increases
  • Collaborate with the Production and Sales team to ensure the availability of inventory
  • Work closely with the Finance team for budget and spending reviews, along with supplier payments


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing / engineering environment (circa 5 years+)
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • CIPS qualifications would be desirable, but relevant experience will be accepted
  • IT Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems, ideally SAP, along with the MS Suite.
  • Confident communication abilities, comfortable working with international and domestic suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
  • Commercially astute with a proactive mindset
  • You will need to be a resident of the UK and have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, my client cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
