Housing Support Worker - Temp to Perm Opportunity - Liverpool
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housing Support Worker on a temp to perm basis in Liverpool, where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality housing support services to vulnerable males facing homelessness, promoting positive lifestyle choices and encouraging independent living.
You'll be taking part in a 3-week rolling rota, working 1 in every 3 weekends. Weekday shifts will either be 7am to 3pm or 1pm to 9pm; weekend shifts will be 8am to 8pm.
Your new role
Facilitating client meetings to complete, review or update individual support plans, ensuring individual goals are being worked towards, benefits are maximised, and personal payments are made as part of a budget plan
Signposting and referring to external support services where specific needs cannot be met through in-house provision
Completing and reviewing individual risk assessments using a person-centred and trauma-sensitive approach
Working with colleagues to design and deliver a wide-range of in-house support services to achieve successful outcomes for clients
Encouraging positive and healthy lifestyle choices to move on from the service and sustain a tenancy independently
Working in a multi-agency environment, liaising with various external agencies and stakeholders, such as Local Authority housing teams, Benefits offices, Drug & Alcohol teams, Mental Health community teams, GPs, nurses and Police.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience working within a supported housing service and supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs/backgrounds (homelessness, drug/alcohol misuse, mental health)
A good understanding of housing management legislation and best practice
A good understanding of the welfare benefits system and housing options
Experience of completing risk assessments & support planning within a supported housing environment
Enhanced DBS (Update service would be ideal but can be carried out upon shortlisting)
What you'll get in return

Competitive salary and paid to scale from day 1
Weekly pay initially whilst temp with option to be paid PAYE or Umbrella
Average 40 hours per week
