An international hospitality company is looking for a finance assistant to assist them for 3 months.

Your new company
You will be working for an international hospitality company assisting in a 3-month temp assignment with the potential to extend. You will be working with the finance team which is offshore in Africa, so you will be expected to work flexible hours.

Your new role

The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations while working closely with an offshore finance team based in Africa. This role requires effective communication and collaboration across time zones to ensure accurate financial processing and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and supporting month-end activities.

Key Duties:
  • Work collaboratively with the offshore finance team to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in coordination with international colleagues
  • Assist with payroll preparation and expense reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and databases
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across regions
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial queries
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and international regulations
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to queries in collaboration with the offshore team
  • Perform general administrative duties within the finance department

What you'll need to succeed

  • Education: Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or business (e.g., AAT, degree in finance)
  • Experience: Previous experience in finance or accounts, ideally within an international or remote team setting
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in financial processing and record-keeping
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess financial data and support reporting
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively coordinate with offshore teams
  • Cross-Cultural Understanding: Ability to navigate different business practices and collaborate with international colleagues
