Salary: £149,000
Location: Flexible- applicants can base themselves in a number of locations, choosing from: London (Stratford), Birmingham, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Ipswich, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham.
The Insolvency Service is looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to guide the agency through an exciting period of transformation and growth. The Insolvency Service plays a crucial role in administering the law governing corporate failure and personal bankruptcy and they are look for a visionary leader to take them forward.
About The Insolvency Service:
At the Insolvency Service, the principal role is to deliver economic confidence by supporting those in financial distress, tackling financial wrongdoing, and maximising returns to creditors. The Insolvency Service provide the frameworks that deal with insolvency and the financial misconduct that sometimes accompanies or leads to it and has an outstanding reputation as a centre of excellence for its work.
Their aim is to create a corporate and personal insolvency regime that is regarded as fair and efficient, giving directors and investors the confidence to start and grow businesses in the UK, thereby supporting economic growth.
The Insolvency Service are an executive agency of the Department for Business and Trade, with approximately 1,800 staff operating from 11 regional centres across the UK.
About the Role:
As the new CEO, you will lead the Insolvency Service in anticipating and transforming the organisation to meet the fast-changing needs of business. You will develop new policies and equip the agency to deal with new technologies, driving an ambitious change programme. This key leadership role involves managing organisational change and transformation, tackling economic crime, and developing and introducing the organisation’s strategic plan.
You will represent the Insolvency Service at the most senior levels with Ministers, government departments, and other stakeholders. Your vision and drive will be essential in leading the agency through this transformative period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision: Provide the strategic framework to ensure the agency operates as a cohesive and high-performing organisation.
- Innovation and Improvement: Drive transformation and pursue new opportunities to enhance service delivery through technology.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work across the insolvency profession and governmental landscapes to contribute to wider government priorities.
About You:
We are looking for an inspirational leader who can deliver on the agency’s operational priorities and build a vision for its future. You will have demonstrable experience in leading and delivering transformational change through technology in large and complex organisations.
You will need excellent communication skills to handle media and public scrutiny effectively and establish credibility with senior stakeholders in both private and public sectors, including Ministers. Strong financial acumen and experience in managing risk and budgets within large or complex organisations are essential.
