Procurement Manager

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a track record of success in public sector procurement? Do you thrive in managing complex procurement processes and fostering collaboration across key stakeholders? Hays are delighted to be recruiting a Procurement Manager for an expanding central government organisation as they go through a period of growth.

As the Procurement Manager, you will lead and oversee all stages of the procurement process, from tendering through contract handover to supplier and contract management. This pivotal role supports the Head of Procurement & Contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies
  • Manage procurement competitions from initiation to contract award.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform commercial decisions.
  • Assess specifications to ensure they align with best practices and business needs.
  • Manage contracts and procurement portfolio activities.
  • Drive value-for-money initiatives and develop additional commercial opportunities.
  • Support governance and compliance to maintain corporate procurement standards.
  • Provide expert training and guidance on procurement processes.
We are looking for individuals with

  • Previous experience of working within Public Sector Procurement
  • Expertise in competitive tenders, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Preferably CIPS qualified or working towards a professional procurement qualification.
