Hays are working in partnership with a leading construction and civil engineering firm in Northern Ireland, seeking to recruit a Drainage Planner for their office in Magherafelt. They are renowned for their wide array of products and services within the construction sector. The company has garnered considerable success by participating in numerous prestigious projects throughout the UK and Ireland. It is well-regarded for its proficiency in precast concrete solutions, civil engineering, and infrastructure developments. Their projects cover various sectors such as transportation, utilities, and commercial construction, with notable works including railways, tunnels, and road improvements.
Your new role
The Drainage Planner will become part of an established technical team at our client's office. The role involves managing the entire process from enquiries to the delivery of precast concrete products, typically for civil engineering projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting customer drawings and breaking down material requirements.
- Pricing custom products and generating quotations.
- Processing and breaking down customer orders.
- Coordinating projects and maintaining project records.
- Creating all necessary documentation and drawings for the production team and customers.
- Communicating with clients, contractors, consultants, and colleagues.
- Ordering products related to customer orders.
- Scheduling product deliveries.
- Ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
- Organising and prioritising projects based on customer needs.
- Providing technical support and advice to customers.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in the Drainage Planner role, our client is looking for a candidate who is skilled in AUTOCAD, capable of interpreting technical drawings, and has experience in a civil engineering environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of civil engineering products, be well-versed in British standards and Eurocodes, and possess a valid UK driving licence.
Additionally, it would be advantageous if the candidate can effectively prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
