Secondary Teaching Assistant - HaresFinch Area of St Helens
We are currently recruiting for an exciting role in Secondary Education.
We are working in partnership with a large Catholic High School in St Helens to recruit a dynamic and caring member of their team.
The school is at the heart of its community. Their students flourish as a result of attentiveness to their needs and the support given by all their staff.
Pupils are confident and take full responsibility for themselves and their actions, with the school being quick to praise and celebrate the achievements of others.
The school works together as a Christian family to live the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ, to love God and our neighbours.
This role is long-term, and they are looking for a candidate who is nurturing and compassionate.
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Contract: Permanent Hours: term -time only + 5 inset days.
A successful candidate should be available to interview ASAP.

Your New Role.
You will be required to immerse yourself in busy lessons as a general Teaching Assistant and provide support for pupils with a range of SEN needs in mainstream education. You may be required to take small groups out of lessons or work on a 1-1 basis with some pupils for intervention frameworks. You should expect to be involved in intervention programs and track / monitor or report findings / changes to behaviour to school SENCo. You will also be working within the Quality First Teaching framework and behaviour management methods in line with school policies. You will need to be consistent and fair in your approach to behaviour management in secondary education and follow school policies for behaviour and safeguarding protocol. You will be given CPD training in line with the school calendar and be involved in the duty roster for the academic year. It is desirable that you are proficient in Literacy and Numeracy at KS3 and KS4 level, but not essential.

- Ability to work 1:1 and in a group setting.
- Behaviour management skills / experience.
- Strong commutation skills.
- Work constructively as part of a team.
- Ability to work alongside children with SEN / behavioural needs.
- Be fun, approachable, and energetic.
- Suitable references.
- Understand the secondary curriculum.
- Up-to-date DBS preferred.
