Your new role
As a Digital Communications Officer, you will be an integral part of the digital and projects team, playing a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and supporting various initiatives. Reporting to the Communications Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Social Media Management: You will create, schedule, and manage engaging social media content across multiple platforms. This involves crafting posts that resonate with our audience, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and enquiries in a timely manner.
- Website and CRM Maintenance: You will help maintain our website, ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant. This includes using content management systems (CMS) to update pages, manage blog posts, and ensuring the website is user-friendly. Additionally, you will manage our CRM system, keeping contact information accurate and organised.
- Content Creation: You will produce compelling written content for various channels, including newsletters, blog posts, and social media. Your writing will help communicate our mission, showcase our impact, and engage our community.
- Graphic Design: You will create simple graphics and visuals using tools like Canva to support our digital campaigns. This includes designing infographics, social media images, and promotional materials that are visually appealing and on-brand.
- Project Support: You will provide practical support for various projects, collaborating with team members to ensure successful execution. This may involve coordinating events, gathering quotes and case studies, and assisting with internal communications.
- Internal Communications: You will support internal communications by managing contact databases, distribution lists, and reporting. This includes ensuring that team members are informed and engaged with ongoing initiatives and updates.
- Operational Plan and Strategy: You will assist in the delivery of the operational plan and marketing and communications strategy. This involves contributing ideas, executing tasks, and helping to achieve our strategic goals.
- SharePoint Administration: You will handle SharePoint administration for file management, ensuring that documents are organised and easily accessible to the team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in supporting communications or digital activities in a professional or voluntary setting
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, website content management systems, or CRMs
Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
A willingness to learn and use platforms like website CMS, CRM systems, Canva, or Mailchimp
The ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
