Early Years / Nursery Teaching Assistant - Reception and Year 1 - St Helens Primary Education

We are currently recruiting for an EYFS Teaching Assistant position in Primary Education for the Parr area of St Helens.

This position is for a prompt start and is a long-term post.

The school is a 2 form entry school located in the leafy suburb of Parr / Newton – le – Willows in South St Helens and is close to the picturesque Newton High Street with bespoke shopping and restaurants.

It is a Church of England primary school which prioritises active participation in learning whilst creating a happy place for children and staff. The school has strong partnerships with local traditions and churches to give pupils a strong sense of community belonging.

The school is Ofsted-rated “good” with teacher challenging pupils’ curiosity and building confidence in learning.


Your new company.

You will be working in a community-centred school which prides itself on enabling exploration and creating unique opportunities to learn. You will be expected to immerse yourself in all aspects of the EYFS curriculum and assist teaching staff to support pupils. They have a wonderful sports and dance initiative at the school to help pupils gain enrichment opportunities. The school does have a moderate number of pupil premium students and is dedicated to safeguarding pupils and staff in the school environment and beyond.

Your new role.

Your new role will see you working in the Early Years framework. You will be expected to track and report developmental stages in connection with the EYFS curriculum and immerse yourself in daily activities. You will be working on a one-to-one basis with early year’s pupils who are non-verbal and are on the pathway for language and additional communication needs. He does wear pull-ups but does require assistance with toileting and is prone to the occasional accident. School will help support you with communication aids and tools to help the learner engage with the EYFS curriculum. You will work closely with teaching staff and follow the CPD calendar as denoted by the school. Experience of speech and language is desired by the school due to complexity of need.


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered, you must have:

- Experience of working within the EYFS Framework or with young children.
- Enthusiasm, energy and flexibility.
- Have experience of working with children within the last 3 years.
- Highly motivated and driven to exceed expectations.
- Up-to-date DBS preferred.
