Your new company

Birmingham City Council are looking to appoint a candidate for their Control Room. They are looking for a skilled, motivated security professional who is available for an ASAP start date.

Your new role

As the face of the Council, you will be at the forefront of helping to deliver the wider neighbourhood agenda, by improving the services they provide to their customers. You will play an integral role in helping to make the residents feel safer, drawing on your local knowledge to help develop key priorities for the neighbourhoods you serve.
Your responsibility is to provide a professional and effective public CCTV/Door entry monitoring service working closely with the Mobile Patrol Officers and Night Time Security Service Supervisors, helping to provide safe, clean and secure neighbourhoods across the city of Birmingham.
You will ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained is secure at all times by strict compliance with the Birmingham City Council’s CCTV operational procedures and code of practice.
You will be required to operate CCTV and door entry systems of communal areas/multi-storey blocks and other properties within the neighbourhoods of the City of Birmingham.
As an operator, you will be required to respond to enquiries from the customers and direct a response team to investigate. You will also handle any issues that are escalated form the Mobile Patrol Officers.
You will be required to work a shift system working days or nights throughout the week including weekends and Bank Holidays, 365 days a year. Contracted to 35 hours per week.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone who is available on an ASAP basis, and is willing to go through the compliance process before starting, including referencing and right to work checks.

You must have a background in security, and ideally have knowledge of working CCTV cameras. You must be highly flexible across the week, and available to commit to night work and weekend shifts.

What you'll get in return

This is a 3 month ongoing opportunity with Birmingham City Council, with strong possibilities of extensions. For the first 13 weeks you will be paid a total hourly accrual of £14.12 (£12.60 excluding holiday allowance) then you will qualify for a rate uplift to £15.56 per hour total (£13.88 excluding holiday allowance)
