Not-for-profit sector, architecture industry, technical administrative role

Hays are working with a major professional body within the construction and architecture industry to help them recruit a Practice and Technical Officer for their London Head Office.

They are a not-for-profit organisaton and a professional institute who are qualifying body within the architecture sector. They fulfil a range of activities, including managing and representing their chartered members’ interests, understanding and advising on legislative changes affecting the industry and their members, and promoting general excellence within the sector.

In total, their London head office is a team of 25 staff, and they’re seeking an additional individual who will join in a supportive role within their practice and technical department.

A full induction will be given to the role, therefore exact experience isn't required. However, candidates with a degree background and some experience in a technical administrative role are encouraged to apply.

The job role mainly focusses on administration for the department, often being the first port-of-call for members, as they make enquiries to the organisation. Excellent administrative skills, both verbal and written, are crucial. You will also be involved in a range of tasks that are supportive of your manager and the team. For example, undertaking research, preparing case-studies, attending meetings and taking minutes, along with diary management.

Candidates with an interest or some background in Architecture are encouraged to apply. As are those with a background in law or a corporate environment, who are perhaps now interested in working within the not-for-profit sector. Having transferrable skills along with a thoughtful and inquisitive approach are the most important characteristics we are seeking.

The organisation works on a hybrid basis, with staff able to work from home two days per week. The organisation also offers good annual leave, a competitive pension package and private health insurance.
