Broadway Academy Trust has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted for the last 14 years and is constantly striving for excellence.

The Department
The Geography Department within the humanities directorate is a supportive, dedicated and passionate department staffed by a small and cohesive team who work together to achieve excellent outcomes for students. The vision and commitment of the outgoing head of department in developing the curriculum has been recognised by the award of the Bernice McCabe award for curriculum design and the Princes Teaching Institute centre of excellence quality mark. The department is at the forefront of the Academy’s co-curricular offer and runs a wide range of trips to enhance student understanding of individual subjects, as well as to improve students’ life experiences.

The Role
We are seeking a leader who will have a strong commitment to curriculum development, ensuring that results at GCSE improve, A-Level results become outstanding and 6th form recruitment is maximised.
You will be able to develop and deliver strategies and plans to address SEN support and outcomes and put literacy and numeracy at the forefront for improving student outcomes. You will have the creativity and commitment to retain the department’s award-wining status and develop the co-curricular and extra-curricular offer through our outdoor education centre in Worcestershire and the Broadway Geographical Society’s fieldwork programme. You will have a strong commitment to effective behaviour management within a restorative practice framework. You will have the proven ability to manage and support staff and maintain momentum and morale.

Why you should join us
You will get a real opportunity to make a difference within a school which encourages students and staff to be aspirational. We have an innovative partnership with a well-regarded school in the independent sector. Staff development is a priority for all, and we provide structured CPD. High achieving teachers have access to an accelerated leadership programme linked to NPQs.
Staff wellbeing is a priority, and the Trust provides an employee assistance programme to support staff. All teaching staff receive a work laptop.
If you are keen to work in a successful and growing academy trust which encourages staff to aim high in their own careers, this could be a great opportunity for you.
