Your new role

Due to continued growth and exciting strategic plans, our client, Maritime Transport, is collaborating with Hays to recruit a Part-Qualified Accountant to join the finance team at their modern Head Office in Felixstowe.

This is a unique opportunity to join Maritime Transport during a period of significant investment, including the implementation of SAP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help drive improvement in accounting processes and systems, broaden their skills, and progress their accountancy qualification and their career with a market-leading organisation, that has its people at the heart of their business.

Key responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Providing assistance to the senior finance team with monthly group reporting requirements
- Data management and variance analysis
- Calculating accruals and prepayments
- Communicating with other departments to obtain key information
- Providing information to assist with the annual budget process
- Supporting the year-end audit process
- Process review and development
- Assisting with general accounting tasks

What you'll need to succeed

- Excellent analytical and numerical skills

- SAP knowledge of similar ERP desirable
- Excel to an advanced / intermediate level
- Ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified
- Enthusiastic, can-do approach and a strong team player
- Able to learn new processes and skills quickly
- Able to work well unsupervised and use initiative
- Strong work ethic to enable tight deadlines to be met
