Financial Controller - SaaS - £80,000 to £100,000

A well-established and growing SaaS company, specialising in software solutions and cloud-hosted services for the global financial sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role offers the chance to manage the financial operations of a dynamic and expanding business.


Your New Company
Operating in the financial technology space, the company provides a suite of specialised software products that streamline post-trade processing, risk management, and investment administration for a diverse clientele. Primarily based in London, and with a growing presence in the US, the company is committed to innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting & Management: Strong UK GAAP (US GAAP ideal), full-cycle accounting, process improvement, accuracy, compliance, strong internal controls.
  • Compliance & Reporting: HMRC PAYE (processing, regulations, submissions, queries, reconciliations), US Sales Tax (understanding, Avalara experience a plus), R&D adviser collaboration, UK & US audit management, fast month/year-end close, key reconciliations, implementing financial discipline.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis: Budget/forecast support, analyst collaboration (potential management), variance analysis, cash flow management.
  • Governance & Change Management: Corporate governance, internal controls, onboarding/transitions, accounting procedures, intercompany costs/transfer pricing understanding.
  • M&A, Restructuring & Asset Management: M&A involvement (due diligence, integration), adapting to organisational/product changes, asset accounting.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant post-qualification finance experience, ideally international.
  • Proven experience in all key responsibility areas.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP (Epicor preferred) proficiency.
  • Independent, organized, and deadline-oriented.
