I am excited to announce that I am currently representing a thriving family-run business based in Belfast in their search for a dedicated Bookkeeper. This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly expanding company.

Your new role

As a key member of the existing team, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for:
  • Bookkeeping up to trial balance stage: Ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Daily financial operations: Managing tasks such as posting supplier invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, accounts payable management, creating customer invoices, accounts receivable management, and more.
  • Monthly sales records: Maintaining and updating sales records regularly.
  • Bank/credit-card reconciliations: Performing monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • VAT returns and analysis: Handling monthly VAT returns and conducting necessary analysis.
  • Aged debtors reports and credit control: Preparing monthly reports and providing credit control as needed.
  • Lodgements: Preparing lodgements efficiently.
  • Payroll payments: Processing monthly payroll payments.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years' experience in accounting and bookkeeping. They must have achieved at least a GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English, and be fluent in both written and spoken English. A strong understanding of financial management principles and practices is essential, along with competent knowledge and proficiency in using the Sage 50 accounts package.
