Junior Electrical Estimator - Pathway to Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical M&E Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will support our senior estimators and project managers in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical and mechanical projects. The right candidate will have the opportunity to progress to a Quantity Surveyor (QS) position within 2–3 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools.
  • Support the project team in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as required.
  • The role will be split between 40% assisting QS staff and 60% scheduling rates.
  • Work on projects in various sectors, including the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), data centres, commercial, finance, and retail.

    Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Previous experience in an estimating role or construction environment is an advantage but not essential.
