Your new company
My client are a diverse and prominent company operating both in the UK and globally. Their operations span numerous business segments, from Automotive to Energy and Technology. We are partnering to recruit the new, high-profile role of Head of Corporate Communications & Governmental Affairs to provide leadership to the Communications & GA team, SLT, and Regional President.
Your new role
As Head of Corporate Communications & Governmental Affairs, you will be responsible for leading the Communications and Governmental Affairs team, providing strategy and direction to the Senior Leadership Team, and creating great communications from storytelling to speech writing. Reporting to both the EMEA Communications team and Regional Country President, this is a senior role that will hold responsibility for the strategic positioning of the brand in the UK and Ireland across all communication channels and governmental relations work. You will lead both internal and external communications, including media relations, corporate brand management, crisis comms, events, change and leadership communication. You will also oversee political monitoring and stakeholder engagement, policy analysis and how these can impact the business. You will define targets, enable and empower your team, and create strategy as well as getting hands-on to craft compelling communications yourself. This role is an excellent opportunity to utilise both your strategic and operational skill-sets.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to draw on your proven experience in communications and public relations as well as your strong sense of business acumen. You will have worked for large, complex organisations, but still be comfortable creating communications yourself - demonstrating excellent storytelling and copywriting skills. You will demonstrate strong leadership and team management, possess excellent stakeholder relationship experience, and be capable of developing, implementing and effectively steering communication strategies. Your background will span both internal and external communications, and policy consulting, government policy and industry association experience is desired.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a base salary of up to £110,000 and a package including company car, bonus, enhanced holiday days, company pension scheme, private medical and other flexible benefits. You will work flexibly from offices in Uxbridge, with both hybrid working and travel expected.
