Your new company
Our client is a global defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Costs Advisor/Solicitor to join any of their regional offices.
Your new role
This Senior Costs Advisor/Solicitor role will see you handle your own caseload primarily of insurance costs, but you may also be expected to also handle claimant costs files. These files can include RTA, EL/PL, industrial diease and/or clinical negligence costs. You will have 2 junior costs advisors beneath you to assist with complex files. You will draft points of dispute, bills of costs, schedule of costs, replies to claims and negotiate costs offers.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have significant experience handling costs in the insurance sector with previous experience of at least one of the following; RTA, EL/PL, industrial disease and clinical negligence costs. You must have a strong understanding of the fixed recoverable costs regime. You must have strong advocacy skills, including CMCs, detailed assessment hearings and interim applications. Cost case management, including preparation of budgets, and excellent negotiation skills are essential.
