Accounts Assistant | Wigan | Temporary 9 months | £28-30k
Your new company
This well-established and reputable business based in Wigan is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis. With a strong presence in their sector and a supportive working environment, this company offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a dynamic finance function. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Your new role
As the Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team with day-to-day transactional duties. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, managing the purchase and sales ledger, dealing with payment runs, assisting with month-end procedures, and handling general finance administration and assisting with payroll, collating hours to send over to external accountants. You will be working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to ensure the smooth running of the department during a busy period. This is a full-time role which is based onsite, with flexibility on start and finish times and an early finish on a Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience in a similar accounts assistant position, with a good understanding of transactional finance processes. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel will be advantageous, along with a proactive and flexible approach to your work.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 and the opportunity to work within a supportive and friendly team. This is a great chance to gain valuable experience in a well-regarded company, with the possibility of securing a permanent role based on performance. You’ll also benefit from a structured onboarding process and the chance to develop your skills in a professional finance environment. You will be paid weekly through Hays and have a dedicated Hays consultant, who will speak with you weekly conducting aftercare. And working on a temporary basis will give you a chance to build your experience with a reputable local business and join a friendly, supportive team environment!
