Your new role

Finance Analyst - Corporate Reporting

This role is a cross cutting role with an element of business partnering and an element of corporate reporting to it. You will be supporting corporate reporting across the council.
  • Finance Business Partnering for one of the council’s smaller directorates: Finance and Resources
  • Corporate Financial Reporting (both internal and external)
  • Working both with a service delivery area and across the council, you will be reporting to the senior finance analyst on agreed objectives and outputs, preparing savings target updates and expenditure and funding reporting.
  • The role will require you to work with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that you have collected the information required on a timely basis with view to collating data and commentary in a comprehensive way.
  • You will also support other areas such as calculating corporate over heads.
  • You will also support to undertake complex and technical accounting tasks and ensure that there is an effective framework for financial reporting, forecasting, control management within the council.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Good organisational skills and ability to get staff from across the organisation to provide information promptly
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to produce written reports collating financial information from across the organisation
  • Part Qualified accountant/ AAT
You may have worked in local government, but applications from candidates who have worked in another public service area or commerce would be welcome.

You must be able to demonstrate that you are proactive, committed to adding value and dedicated to improving systems and processes to deliver a first-class service to budget holders.
