Senior Care Assistant - Southend

Your new company

Hays are proud to be working on behalf of an elderly and dementia Residential Care Home based in the heart of Southend-on-sea, Essex. This organisation is growing and is opening new rooms for residents. Therefore, they require a new member of staff to join their team. This organisation is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis.

Your new role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be involved in supporting elderly residents within a Residential Care Home environment. Some elderly residents need very limited support and just assistance, but others have more complex behaviours, including dementia.

You will be responsible for shift leading, allocating tasks to staff, training new starters and undertaking inductions. Along with the internal staff supervision, you will be responsible for liaising with families, doctors, GPs and other external agencies.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will also be responsible for administering medication and updating care plans online.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year experience working within the Social Care industry, working with elderly residents and preferably those with dementia, although this is not essential. A candidate with experience as a Senior Care Assistant would be preferred. However, if you are an experienced Care Assistant looking to step up, we would love to speak to you!

You must also be able to commit to 3 shifts a week (8am until 8pm) and live locally in the Southend area.
You MUST also have the full right to work in the UK with a minimum of 6 months experience working within the UK in Social Care. Unfortunately, this role is not offering sponsorships.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive pay of up to £13.50 per hour along with other benefits as part of your full-time permanent contract.

This care home is easy to get to if you do not drive, as it is located near a bus stop.
You will be working for a caring and passionate organisation where they care and support their staff about their career and development and promote internal career progression.
