Our client has exclusively retained Hays to secure a finance leader for their SME business. The organisation is an award-winning organisation which delivers a creative and industry-leading service to its loyal customer base.

Your new role
As the Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the full accounting function for the business. You will be delivering insightful information to the owners and SMT to help the decision-making process. You will work with an operational team to manage different projects.
Yu will provide the financial leadership and contribute proactively to the growth and development of the organisation’s activities, developing and managing the finance function in the exercise of financial control and the provision of financial advice and guidance to senior management in support of the overall business goals and objectives.

The position will deliver the management and reporting of business KPIs, with responsibility for developing financial plans, budgets, forecasts and analysis to ensure an efficient and cost-effective organisation. Providing strategic analysis supported by financial modelling, you will support key business decisions.

You will be responsible for tax compliance and planning, as well as external statutory reporting, and ensuring compliance. You will manage the taxation requirements for the business.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
  • Lead in all areas of finance to support both the day to day running of the department and business goals and objectives
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for cost saving, revenue generation and improved cash flows
  • Implementation of continuous improvements across the finance function to gain operational efficiencies
  • Ensuring compliance and reduction of risk for business
  • The review, maintenance and development of financial policies and procedures
  • Working with the operational team to produce and deliver projects on budget
  • Production of the Budgeting, Forecasting and longer-term planning
  • Taxation
  • Manage and support the finance function

What you'll need to succeed
You will have excellent experience communicating with the Senior Management Team with the ability to influence the decision-making process. You will be a qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.

You will receive a clear path forward to being a Finance Director if successful in this role. You will secure a remuneration package of between £60000 - £70000 per annum dependent on your experience.
