Professional Support Officer- Band 4 - £13.67 per hour, Newtownbreda, 22.5 hours per week

You will be joining a dedicated Professional Support & Wellbeing team within a respected healthcare training organisation. The team provides essential support services to resident doctors and dentists, including mentoring, coaching, career development, and managing pre-employment processes for training programmes in Northern Ireland.
Your new role
As a Professional Support Officer, you will play a key role in delivering immigration and sponsorship services under the UKVI Points Based System. This is a temporary, part-time position (22.5 hours per week) based in Belfast.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing Certificates of Sponsorship in line with UKVI rules and KPIs.
- Monitoring visa applications and advising on anticipated start dates.
- Coordinating immigration status and right-to-work checks.
- Maintaining accurate records on the UKVI Sponsorship Management System.
- Producing reports and correspondence for trainees applying for indefinite leave to remain.
- Updating immigration guidance on the organisation’s website.
- Managing first-level queries from applicants regarding sponsorship.
- Assisting with policy development and implementation.
- Supporting training delivery related to immigration processes.
- Building strong working relationships with managers and medical HR teams.
- Providing general administrative support across the department.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria:
- GCSE Maths and English (A–C) or equivalent, plus 2 A Levels or higher qualification
AND
18 months relevant administrative experience, including at least one year in a Human Resources environment
OR
Three years’ relevant experience, including one year in HR. - Excellent IT skills, including experience with Excel and maintaining databases.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and supporting remote working.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative and improving processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience working with the UKVI Points Based Immigration System.
