A public sector organisation is recruiting for a Business Client Manager based in Ballymena.
Your new role
As the Business Client Manager, you’ll act as the primary point of contact for local businesses, leading on engagement, support pathways and growth initiatives. You will manage a diverse portfolio of companies, identifying their needs through diagnostics and baseline assessments before guiding them to the most suitable support networks, programmes and advisory resources.
A major part of your role will involve overseeing the organisation’s core business growth programme, ensuring effective delivery, compliance, and performance against agreed objectives. You’ll manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate mentors and advisors, and utilise CRM systems to track progress, analyse data and produce reports.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external partners, assist in the development of economic strategies, deliver business workshops and roadshows, and contribute to programme development and funding opportunities. In addition, you’ll lead administrative staff involved in programme delivery, ensuring strong governance, effective financial management and adherence to high quality standards.
This is a dynamic, hands‑on role where you will represent the organisation at events, contribute to policy development and help shape the future economic landscape within the region.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in business, finance, economics or a related discipline and at least three years’ experience in a business advisory, consultancy or support environment
OR - At least five years’ experience in a business environment with substantial exposure to business engagement and growth‑focused services.
You must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience building relationships with new and existing businesses, gathering insight and identifying opportunities, risks and suitable support routes.
- Experience delivering consultancy, workshops or training to support business development and growth.
- Experience coordinating significant business initiatives or projects that improved performance or growth outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build productive partnerships.
- Excellent knowledge of the challenges facing businesses and the wider economic landscape.
- A thorough understanding of business support initiatives at local and regional levels.
- Access to transport to meet the travel requirements of the role.
