Seeking an Audit Director with RI experience to support the investigations of a respected regulator.

The Organisation
Join a respected regulatory body. The Enforcement Division plays a critical role in maintaining public trust by investigating serious or significant breaches of professional standards. You’ll be part of a team that ensures accountability and drives improvements in audit quality across the profession.

The Job
As Senior Audit Advisor, you will support the Executive Director of Enforcement in investigations concerning statutory auditors and audit firms. Your role will focus on:

• Advising case teams on the practical interpretation of accounting and auditing standards
• Helping to identify and assess serious or significant breaches of relevant requirements
• Instructing and evaluating external audit experts
• Providing internal expert audit opinions across multiple cases
• Drafting technical memoranda and reports to support enforcement actions
You’ll work closely with forensic accountants, lawyers, and external experts to ensure investigations are thorough, fair, and technically sound.

The Person
We’re looking for a highly experienced audit professional who brings:

• Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or equivalent, with RI status or equivalent senior experience
• Experience: Extensive audit experience, particularly with listed and public interest entities
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of auditing and accounting standards, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills, capable of drafting high-quality reports and engaging with diverse stakeholders
• Judgement & Integrity: Able to assess the reasonableness of audit judgements and maintain objectivity under pressure
• Leadership & Influence: Confident in advising case teams, challenging assumptions, and influencing investigative direction
• Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple cases and meeting tight deadlines

Salary available is £119.866.80, work life balance including a 35 hour week and 28 days holiday, 10% non-contributory pension.
