Permanent Post

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their HR department on a permanent basis
Duties include;
  • Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for the organisation from start to finish on a sole basis
  • Maintain employee payroll records and process starters, leavers, and changes.
  • Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP).
  • Process overtime, bonuses, allowances, and deductions.
  • Submit FPS/EPS to HMRC and resolve payroll‑related queries.
  • Complete month‑end and year‑end tasks (P60s, P45s, P11Ds).
  • Handle pension administration including auto‑enrolment.
  • Process LGPS and TPS contributions and ensure accurate monthly returns.
  • Maintain LGPS/TPS starters, leavers, service updates and support annual reconciliations.
  • Produce payroll reports for Finance/HR.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and GDPR.

You will have;
  • Strong end‑to‑end payroll processing experience from start to finish.
  • Excellent understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments.
  • Confident working independently and managing the full payroll cycle alone.
  • Experience with LGPS and TPS monthly returns and reconciliations.
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills for handling payroll queries professionally.
  • Proficient with payroll systems and comfortable liaising with software providers.
  • Discreet, reliable, and committed to maintaining GDPR and data confidentiality.
