Hays Healthcare are currently recruiting for a band 6-8 locum CHC Nurse Assessor in West Midlands

Location: Hybrid Working (Birmingham & Solihull)
Team: Acquired Brain Injury Team
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Initial contract term: 6 Months
Daily Pay Rate: £290 - £320 (depends on the experience)

Job Purpose
As a key member of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with commissioners and providers to support the effective placement and quality assurance of individuals requiring Specialist Placements or ABI provision. You will be responsible for ensuring that individuals are placed appropriately, with a continuous focus on their needs, and facilitating the most effective care pathways.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct face-to-face reviews of children across Birmingham and Solihull, alongside home-based work and office attendance as needed.
Co-ordinate timely Quality Assurance reviews for patients receiving Specialist Placements and ABI care.
Act as a specialist practitioner, interpreting national guidance and supporting complex case management.
Liaise with patients, relatives, local authorities, and providers to ensure effective care planning and discharge processes.
Support the Lead Complex Manager and Commissioners in planning and managing work effectively, including compiling reports and data summaries.
Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and contribute to the delivery of complex cases.

What you'll need to succeed
Registered with NMC or equivalent (AHP/Social Worker).
Post-graduate degree or significant experience in a relevant specialist area.
Demonstrable experience in CHC clinical practice and team management.
Strong understanding of the health and social care landscape, including NHS CHC processes.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage competing demands and problem-solve in a sensitive environment.

Desirable Criteria
Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience in a specialist area or management.
