Welcome

Jen-Gregson

I am very pleased to welcome you to our dedicated recruitment website.

I took up the post of Acting-Headteacher of Ark Rose in February 2017 having previously been Ark’s Network Lead for Primary Professional Development leading on teacher development, and a senior leader at one of our London primary schools. I know that the development of all of our staff is central to the continued improvement of Ark Rose and Ark’s CPD is among the best I have experienced.

This is a very exciting time to join our school as we have just launched a consultation on a proposed merger with Ark Kings Academy which would create an all-through school from September 2017. Ark Kings is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted and at Easter will move into a brand new building. If our merger is agreed, Ark Rose staff and children will transfer to Ark Kings from September 2017 and have access to their fantastic new facilities and specialist teachers.

Ark Rose is a highly collaborative school with a culture of honesty and openness. We support each other well so that when a member of the team needs support, there is someone there to give it. Our children come from deprived backgrounds and often need additional support. It is important that our staff have the emotional intelligence and empathy to understand our children and their individual circumstances but without making excuses for them. It is because we love our children that we don’t make excuses – enabling them to succeed and be proud of their achievements is what will have the biggest impact on their futures.

Ark Rose has had a challenging past but it is a friendly, loving place with a very bright future. I hope to welcome you for a visit very soon.
