Building Services Energy Manager based in South Manchester working with High-End clients

Purpose of Job
The role of the Energy Manager is to enable the client’s energy reduction programs through monitoring, targeting and interventions in building services.
The role has a strong focus on supporting our clients and supporting the wider team to manage the client’s energy to drive consumption down and support their net-zero initiatives. Reporting regularly on all utilities, carbon, and costs.

Key Responsibilities
Building Performance Improvement
• Complete Energy Optimisation visits reviewing operational and behavioural changes to reduce energy and reviewing future projects alongside Mechanical and Electrical experts.
• Work alongside BMS teams to monitor changes made and validate against consumption.
• Whilst reducing energy and making changes, monitor the risks and impacts on customers.
• Align with the client to ensure connected technologies are used effectively.
• Support the Data Led Migration of the infrastructure.

Energy monitoring
• Review data analytics to identify adverse trends and anomalies and provide regular progress reports.
• Monitor energy in line with clients' targets and set KPIs.
• Manage energy related queries and investigate on site, including BMS interventions in conjunction with the Engineering Team/ Facilities Team
• Technical and operational oversight of utility/non-utility meter data collection to enable accurate monitoring, including management of gaps and drop-outs.
• Validate all data, making sure it is accurate and investigating reasons for anomalies.

Engagement and governance
• Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Support with data collection of governance reporting such as SECR and ESOS.
• Supporting the implementation of client energy/carbon efficiency recommendations
• Ensuring liaison with Engineering and Building Performance teams to support best practice.
• Educate and train others around understanding energy use.
• Being confident to present to Directors and key stakeholders on progress.

Requirements and skills
• Proven experience as an Energy Manager in the Building Services field with retail & hospitality experience being highly desirable.
• An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, engineering controls understanding, an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, as well as excellent communication skills.
• Experience of working with different teams to engage and build relationships to align energy savings goals
• Familiarity with administration and management of modern database and information system technologies.
• Experienced with Energy Monitoring Software.
• Proficient in Excel and able to create personalised reports to suit the requirements of the client.
