Head of Claims - Lloyd's Insurance Broker (Based in the City of London)

Your new company
A well-established and growing London Market insurance broker is seeking to appoint a Head of Claims to lead and develop its claims function. The business operates across a range of specialty and international lines, supporting clients with complex risk placements and a strong emphasis on service delivery.

Your new role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of claims handling, from initial notification through to final resolution.

You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on claims strategy, coverage considerations and settlement approach, while ensuring claims are progressed efficiently and in line with expectations.

The role will involve close engagement with insurers, adjusters and other market partners, as well as direct involvement in the handling and negotiation of more complex or disputed claims. You will play a key part in ensuring that clients receive clear communication, timely updates and a high standard of service throughout the claims process.

Alongside the technical aspects, you will lead and manage a team, ensuring work is allocated effectively, standards are maintained and individuals are supported in their development. The position will also involve reviewing and enhancing internal processes, improving operational efficiency and maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will bring significant experience within a London Market claims environment, with a strong technical understanding of complex insurance classes. A track record of handling and overseeing high-value or contentious claims is essential.

Experience in leading teams and managing workloads in a fast-paced environment will be key, alongside the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level and able to influence outcomes across the claim's lifecycle.

A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and market practices is expected, and professional qualifications (such as ACII) would be advantageous.
