Pastoral Lead – Huddersfield
A brilliant and highly supportive secondary school in Huddersfield is seeking an experienced Pastoral Lead to join their team on a long‑term basis through Hays Education. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour support, and creating a positive school culture.
The Role
- Lead on pastoral care across a designated year group or key stage
- Support students with behaviour, attendance, safeguarding concerns, and wellbeing needs
- Work closely with senior leaders, heads of year, and external agencies
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment
Requirements
- Recent experience (within the last 3 years) providing pastoral support in a UK high school
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and attendance processes
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution‑focused
- A genuine commitment to improving student outcomes and wellbeing
